So, sorry for the lack of tour blogs.
We’ve been flat out with the first couple of shows on the headline tour. More stupid drives, stupid early starts but great shows. So thanks to everyone who came down so far.

Let’s see what went on…

Monday was Manchester. We stopped off to do some stuff for female first http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vIFhOurPIHE&feature=player_embedded then headed in to meet up with the BBR guys. Coldest dressing room in Europe but a lovely new venue and a good busy crowd.

Tues, this is were the shit started. Owen had to go to Belfast for some press and got the BMI Baby Flight 56 from Manchester to … Manchester.
5am start to make 6.30 am flight. Plane took off, went to Belfast drove around for a bit above the city and then went straight back to Manchester due to Fog. You;d think theyd know this before they set out from Manchester. Maybe give someone in Belfast a call.

- Hey, is that Belfast?
- Hey, yeah, it is
- Cool, is it really foggy?
- Yup, cant see a thing.
- Ok, cool, we’ll stay in Manchester then and not waste everyones time flying to a city we cant f***ing land in!!

But no, they didnt bother. Cheers

Wednesday was London. Another early start, more interviews. All good. Great show and Duff McKagan from Guns n Roses was there. Just to see us. Which was pretty sweet.

(Duff McKagan)

Thursday…Southampton.
What a show. The last Southmapton show was awesome and this one was better. It was rammed. Glad that so many people were there to see General Fiasco grind to a musical halt. Imagine a car with 4 wheels, not that hard to imagine, most have 4. But imagine that one wheel is a triangle, one is a square and one is star shaped. The 4th wheel has fallen off. That was General Fiasco during Desert Hearts. We’re not sure what went wrong but boy was it wrong. It’s the first time that’s ever happened to us. Where we have all completely got lost in a track. Just as it looked like team fiasco was about to pull it together someone would hit another bum note or the drums would be doing what the other instruments thought and vise-versa. There’s a clip of Evanesence somewhere were they mess up and at the end the woman with the big voice just goes….”wow”. That pretty much summed it up. BUT it was a such a great show. We all loved it and aside from the Desert Hearts wonky car it was great. Cheers.
BUT BUT BUT this is when things really went wrong.

We loaded the van and went to open the side to get everyone in and SNAP, the key broke. We only had 1 key so we couldnt get into the van, couldnt start the van, couldnt move the van. If you’re in the police and are reading this none of this happened. Its all made up. If you’re not in the police this is what happened….

One of our crew got into the van (how?) and managed to hot wire the van (again, how?). Now, when you hotwire a vehicle some odd things happen with the electrics (apparently). Sometimes the wipers will go non stop (a tell tale sign for the police during a dry day looking for car thieves) sometimes you have no wipers, or lights, or indicators….thats what we ended up with. At night. So, we drove back to our hotel giving hand singnals out the van as if it was the frickin’ 1910′s. and with no lights. Bad, bad times. What if the cops stopped us? Can you hotwire your own van? Is that legal?

(The Ignition Box, masterfully ripped open and hotwired by a now dodgey looking chap in GF’s crew)

Friday was club NME and it was AMAZING! We’ve done club shows before, indie disco then a band then an indie disco and it has usually been balls. People arent interested. It’s like getting busy with a girl (or boy) then someone walking in and going, here, fancy making some shortbread? It’s nothing but an intrusion, messing peoples night up. But club NME was great! People crammed against the barriers, sang along and generally made it one of the best gigs we’ve ever had. Cheers.

…we’re in glasgow now and we’ve not mentioned birmingham or york. they were both great. i’ll go into details in the next blog :-)

America tomorrow…….yeooooooooooo!
